Wells, Baron Frankenstein and his Monster, Robor, Carnacki, Sherlock Homes, and Dracula, among others. All have been accounted for except two: the detective and the vampire.

This ‘secret society’ is similar to Brass’ secret society due to the same thinking -- taking the best minds of the world and trying to solve the world’s problems. Elijah is taken under Sherlock’s tutelage following this tale.

The hammer in this tale is similar to Thor’s hammer from Marvel Comics. The Professor in this tales seems to a mix of Professor Xavier (of Marvel’s X-Men) and Niles Caulder (the Chief from DC’s The Doom Patrol).
