Checkmate
Checkmate [Harry Stein; Harvey Bullock; Mr. O'Connell; Checkmate Knight [Ray Carson] (first appearance); B.J.; Pawn-One [Rick]; Phil]; Valentina Vostok [Negative Woman]; Amanda Waller; Suicide Squad [Bronze Tiger [Ben Turner]]; Project Peacemaker [Dr. Bridgette D'Abo] (cameo); Black Thorn (cameo flashback); VILLAINS: Bishop [Jaques Reynard]; Mr. Warwick (first appearance); Salvadore "Crazy Horse" Sharpo (first appearance); Danelli
Ray is impersonating a mob contact who is involved in a plot to kill a political figure when he is attacked by an armored assassin who calls himself Bishop. Bishop handily beats the Checkmate Knight and blows up his target (or thinks he does, not realizing it was Ray in disguise). After a short breather, Ray goes out as Warwick again to confront the man who tried to have him killed. Once again, Bishop attacks, but this time Ray is ready for him with a souped up suit of Checkmate armor. Waller shows up at Checkmate with reinforcements for a war that is about to rock the intelligence community.
