Justice Society of America [Green Lantern [Alan Scott]; Hawkman [Carter Hall]; Dr. Mid-Nite [Dr. Charles McNider]; Wonder Woman [Diana Prince]; Black Canary [Dinah Drake]; The Flash [Jay Garrick]; The Atom [Al Pratt]]; Professor Hughes (Jay Garrick's Senior class advisor); Paul Turnbull (Garrick's classmate); Johnson (Garrick's classmates); three unnamed classmates of Jay Garrick; unnamed college night watchman; Mr. Alpha [Fred Kincaid] (villain, bank President)
The JSA members, being honored at Midwestern University, are to have a dinner in their honor. However, the Flash can't attend because of a commitment made ten years previously, when he and seven of his classmates, along with their college professor, made prophecies as to what they believed their lives would be like, and now they were to examine those prophecies to see how accurate they were. One, Paul Turnbull, refuses to participate, burns his prophecy, and leaves the room. However, using ultra-violet light, the JSA sees Turnbull's prediction that he would become a criminal named Mr. Alpha.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mid-Nite and Black Canary are in Florida, following a clue that Mr. Alpha was going to use meteorology to commit a crime. As a hurricane warning goes up, the criminal robs a casino using the hurricane as a cover, but the JSA duo find themselves overpowered and placed in a burning room.
