A headstrong swashbuckler, Skip McKay, is in command of a spaceship of colonists bound for Jupiter's moon, Io. Capt. Strong and the cadets accompany them in a separate ship to see that the colony is set up according to law. The colonists make it to Io, but McKay discovers uranium there and causes trouble.
