Around the end of 1988/beginning of 1989, Rosenberg merged all the properties controlled by these companies under the Malibu name, though Eternity was the brand he used on the magazine line. Shortly after, Malibu acquired Adventure and Aircel, keeping them as brands, eventually reviving the Malibu brand as well. Eternity was the brand for the old, continuing titles, then became the brand for anime-inspired titles like Robotech. After the acquired Adventure titles ran their course, Adventure was the brand for licensed titles like Planet of the Apes and Doc Savage. Aircel was the brand for first Barry Blair's material, then Malibu's adult line. The Malibu brand was used primarily for super-heroes.

In 1992, Malibu published the first Image titles. Then when Image went on their own, Malibu launched Ultraverse and Bravura brands as replacements, along with reviving Golden Age public domain heroes under the Malibu line.

Marvel acquired Malibu around the end of 1994 and they briefly published comics featuring the Ultraverse characters.
