Deathlok goes on a mission to rescue Mike Travers (an old army buddy) from Major Simon Ryker. He manages to extract Mike but he is recaptured by Major Ryker's men. When Deathlok goes after Mike again he encounters War-Wolf, who Major Ryker says is Mike's mind in a cyborg body.

Stan Lee says that this is the second Golden Age of Marvel and mentions Spider-Man teaming up with the Childrens Television Workshop, Crazy magazine being a runaway best-seller in the satire field, the Origins of Marvel Comics book, their new black-and-white combination comic-strip/story magazines, the largest, most successful line of color comics the world has ever known, the new Treasury of Spider-Man and the new Marvel Comics Calendar for 1975 available wherever books, magazines and greeting cards are sold. Stan plugs the Marvel Comics Calendar for 1975 some more and mentions that a big write-up on it will be in Playboy's August issue. Items about how Roy Thomas was awarded an Alfred by the first international Comic-Strip Congress at Angouleme, France, Creem Magazine is reviewing comics (although Marvel doesn't agree with all of their reviews) and recently applauded the efforts of Jim Starlin, Steve Englehart and Al Milgrom on mags like Master of Kung Fu and Captain Marvel, the nominations for the annual awards given out by the Academy of Comic-Book Arts have been announced and Conan and Tomb of Dracula were nominated in Best-Continuing-Feature, Conan and Dr. Strange were nominated for Best Story, Jim Starlin and Klaus Janson were nominated for Outstanding New Talent, Marie Severin and Mike Ploog and Larry Hama and Bob Foster were nominated for Best-Humor-Penciler and they are once again accepting memberships in FOOM.
