This cover is a redrawn, recolored, line-art version of the original cover for The Twilight Zone (Western, 1962 Series) #1 (November 1962), painted by George Wilson. Rod Serling is also represented by a pencil and inked drawing, rather than the usual photo inset.

The redrawn cover is more accurate to the interior story it illustrates than was the original painted cover. The fishing boat is revised to better reflect the look of the boat in the interior story. The characters of the two fishermen are properly positioned to reflect their respective actions in the story – the original cover had the two characters “acting-in-the-reverse” of their roles in the story. The mysterious woman’s sailboat bears the name “Wanderer” on the redrawn cover (as it does in the story), but did not do so in the original cover painting. The mysterious woman is a brunette on the redrawn cover (as she appears in the story), but was blonde in the original cover painting.
