The year of their first activity has not yet been determined but is probably in the early to mid-1940s. ENS continued publication in the United States through the end of 1957 when the actual printing moved from Western Publishing to La Prensa in Mexico. Export Newspaper Service is known to have published material originated by Magazine Enterprises, Lev Gleason, Fiction House, EC, and Quality Comics. Their publications appear to have been distributed in the United States as well as in Latin America. Issues usually have no cover price but are priced 10ยข in the indicia and have subscription information in US dollars. Advertising is generally in Spanish but is for American companies. Export Newspaper Service, or ENS, continued as an imprint of La Prensa well into the 1960s. Clearly, a great deal more research is needed into this little-known aspect of the American comics publishing industry.   Does this data need corrections? Become an editor.
